ALTE’s First International Digital Symposium of Was Held

The experts researching the assessment of language skills shared their opinions about the new developments in the field during the International ALTE Digital Symposium, organized under the main sponsorship of Yunus Emre Institute.

The International ALTE Digital Symposium was held between the dates of April 28-30, 2021, under the main sponsorship of Yunus Emre Institute. The interest was high in the symposium with the theme of “Safeguarding the Future of Multilingual Assessment in the Covid World”. Many experts and academics from organizations that teach foreign languages and develop language tests in different countries as well as Yunus Emre Institute, Goethe Institut, British Council, Cambridge Assessment, TestDaF-Institut, Pearson PTE Academic, IELTS, TRINITY College London, Telc Language Tests participated in the symposium.

Many researchers visited Yunus Emre Institute's stall at the symposium in which the digital stalls were visited by the participants and online conferences were held at digital halls. The visitors were informed about the activities, Turkish courses and Turkish Competency Exam (TCE) of Yunus Emre Institute.

Experts researching the assessment of language skills had the opportunity to discuss and share their opinions about the new developments in the field at the digital platform. The First ALTE Digital Symposium featured topics such as the security of the exam applications that changed with the pandemic, principles of exam assessment, personalized exams and exam development process, and the symposium ended on April 30, 2021 with the closing session.
