The Certificate Program for Teaching Turkish to Foreigners Has Started

The Certificate Program for Teaching Turkish as a Foreign Language” for Turkologists abroad started with the opening made in the headquarter of the Institute on July 27, 2015, Monday. The opening speech of the program participated by 34 trainees from 14 different countries was given by Turkish Education and Training Center Director Dr. İbrahim Gültekin, Gazi University TÖMER Director Prof. Dr. Yaşar Aydemir and Strategy Development Manager Hasan Kocabıyık.

In his speech, Gültekin said that the program was important for the foreign Turkologists in terms of understanding especially the daily Turkish by living and hearing it, and practicing and distinguishing the pronunciation differences. He also emphasized that the program was carried out with the cooperation of Gazi University and Ankara University.

Aydemir stated in his speech that the learning process was mutual, and it was a useful relationship for both sides. He thanked the participants in the name of Gazi University.

Kocabıyık said that Turkish started to attract attention as a language thanks to the trade relations and active foreign policy followed, and in that sense, Yunus Emre Institute was making efforts to bring the subject of teaching Turkish to a specific level internationally, and the participants could have a collaboration with the Institute also on the fields of study for language, culture and art together with Turkish teaching.

The participants will attend the workshops in Turkish Teaching Centers every morning on weekdays, and attend the seminars for the methods and techniques of teaching foreign language, which will be given by the subject matter experts. The candidates who complete the program successfully will be given certificates in the closing program on August 22, 2015, and the other candidates will be given participation certificates.
