Conference on "Interactions between Turkish and Arabic in Historical and Cultural Context" in Doha

Through its activities in Qatar, Doha Yunus Emre Institute not only promotes Turkish culture but also increases cultural interaction by organizing events that emphasize the cultural common ground between the two countries.

Doha Yunus Emre Institute organized a conference on "Interactions between Turkish and Arabic in Historical and Cultural Context" with the participation of Gazi University Rector Prof. Musa Yıldız.

The program hosted by the Institute on January 19, 2023 was attended by Turkish Ambassador to Doha Dr. M. Mustafa Göksu, YEI Doha Coordinator Prof. Ömer Özkan, Education Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Doha Mustafa Adas, Commander of the Qatar Turkish Joint Force Brigadier General Aydoğan Önal, academics and invited guests.

Doha Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Prof. Ömer Özkan gave information about the Institute's Turkish language teaching activities and cultural activities in his opening speech.

Gazi University Rector Prof. Musa Yıldız stated in his speech at the conference: "We see that the interaction between Turkish and Arabic is quite strong. Although the two languages do not belong to the same language family, there are common usages at the level of sounds, words and phrases. This is due to the religious, historical and geographical closeness between our peoples."

After the program, which attracted great interest, Gazi University Rector Prof. Musa Yıldız answered the questions of the audience.
