Crisantem Quartet at Music Days Festival

Crisantem Quartet has represented Turkey at the International Music Days Festival, held in Montenegro.

The festival took start with the opening ceremony given by Amoroso Chamber Orchestra from Serbia on July 10, 2019. On its third day, Crisantem Quartet took stage to represent Turkey with support from Yunus Emre Institute. Turkey attended the festival for the first time, and Crisantem Quartet, consisting of Trakya University State Conservatory members Leyla Osmanzade Erkin (viola), Gülce Sevi Par (violin), Bahar Hoşcan (violin) and Sibel Göksel (double bass), played the works of Joseph Haydn, B. Bartok, Burhan Öçal and Kara Karaev. 

The concert was attended by Music Days Festival Director Boris Kraljević, JUK Herceg Fest Cultural Center Director Gordana Krcunović- Porobić, Herceg Novi Music School Director Jovanka Veljović and numerous local and foreign classical music fans.

In their keynote speeches, Festival Director Kraljević and Music School Director Krcunović expressed their thanks to the Institute for giving them the chance to convey Turkey's rich cultural heritage to the inhabitants of Herceg Novi at the Music Days Festival via Yunus Emre Institute's Podgorica Branch, and noted that they hoped to maintain the cooperation which started within the context of the festival in coming years.

The 36th International Music Days Festival is held in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, between July 10 and 20, 2019 with support from the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro and the Municipality of Herceg Novi and in cooperation with JUK Herceg Fest Cultural Center and Herceg Novi Music School.

The festival, which will end with the solo concert to be given by pianist Boris Kraljević, who acts as the director of the festival, on July 20, 2019, is bringing bands and ensembles from Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Singapore and the US together for classical music fans.
