The face-to-face Turkish education program at the Tunisia Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) resume after a two-year hiatus.

Tunisia Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Ali İhsan Çevik made a statement regarding the face-to-face education, which was suspended for two years due to the pandemic, where he stated: "Our courses that we started today have once again attracted great interest, as in previous periods."

"WE HAVE STUDENTS IN EVERY REGION TO WHICH WE CARRY THE WORD OF YUNUS"

Noting that they restarted both face-to-face and online education groups, Çevik stated: "Thanks to the online courses, we had the opportunity to reach those who want to learn our language outside Tunisia as well. Currently, we have students from every region of Tunisia, from the north to the south, from the east to the west."

Çevik expressed that Yunus Emre Institute aims to increase the number of people who have ties with Turkey and are friendly to Turkey, and that they have been carrying out Turkish language activities in Tunisia since 2017 in addition to social and cultural programs.

"TUNISIA AND TURKEY ARE CULTURALLY ALIKE"

Lilya Hazri, a Turkish student studying in the Department of International Relations at Tunisia University, commented: "I have participated in many cultural exchange programs between Tunisia and Turkey. In Tunisia, I worked on projects that attracted young people at the Ali Bilhevan Cultural Center. Now, I have started classes at Yunus Emre Institute to learn the Turkish language, which I am very fond of."

Stating that Tunisia and Turkey are culturally alike in many ways, Lilya said that she started the Turkish language course because she wanted to learn more about Turkish culture as well as the Turkish language.

Tunisian businesswoman Sanda Belşaviş stated that she started the course to realize her dream of living in Turkey, adding that she had previously lived in Bursa for 6 months and wanted to return to Turkey ever since.
