International Media Members Receive Turkish Education Certificate

A certificate award ceremony was organized for the international media members who learned Turkish in the education program that was organized through the collaboration of the Republic of Turkey Presidency, Presidency of Communication and Yunus Emre Institute.

During the ceremony was held at the Conference Hall of the Istanbul Regional Directorate of the Presidency of Communication, Yunus Emre Institute President Prof. Şeref Ateş mentioned his happiness in helping the media members in their process of learning Turkish.

Prof. Ateş congratulated the media members for their efforts and thanked them for their interest and endeavors and stated that the Turkish certificates awarded to the media members were the result of their success and efforts in the education program.

Prof. Ateş said that the journey of media members for learning Turkish was a good opportunity to be introduced to the Turks and Turkish culture and stated that as the Institute, they were providing such opportunities in all four corners of the world, that they were getting to know the cultures of the countries where they established cultural centers, and that they invited the people of these countries to get to know Turkey through Turkish language and cultural transfer.

Ateş mentioned that the most fundamental and sincere solutions for the problems of the world could be resolved through communication and acquaintances and said, "In fact, the underlying element of many problems is the fear of those who are recognized or known. Feeding the image of "the other" because of the misinformation of the malicious persons who feed these fears for their own benefits also lie underneath these problems."

 

"IT WILL BE BENEFICIAL FOR YOUR PROFESSIONAL WORK IN TURKEY"

Prof. Ateş mentioned that they strived to get acquainted with all the peoples of the world by utilizing the online resources in 64 cultural centers and more than 100 contact points in different geographies of the world and said the following:

"You are also serving a similar purpose by increasing the professional communication and providing accurate communication facilities. Enhancing communication, helping people be aware of each other, and making the world more livable by developing a universal language through a common perspective should be our common purpose. This step you have taken and your endeavor to learn a different language and culture will reinforce this purpose the best. Because language is an important tool for communication. You are also opening the road for the most accurate and direct communication by learning the language of the country in which you will do research and relay information.

A GUIDE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL MEDIA MEMBERS IN TURKEY

Prof. Ateş mentioned that he hoped the book entitled “A Guide for the International Media Members in Turkey”, prepared by the Republic of Turkey Presidency, Presidency of Communication within the scope of the program, would be beneficial for the professional works and daily life of the international media members in Turkey.

Prof. Şeref Ateş presented his thanks to the Republic of Turkey Presidency, President of Communication Fahrettin Altun, the Institute experts who contributed to the program, and the Turkish teachers.

After the speeches, Altun and Ateş presented the certificates to the foreign media members. At the end of the program, a collective photograph was taken with the media members.

After the certificate award ceremony, the media members left the program area to participate in the cultural trip organized to the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) and Beyoğlu Culture Route.
