Journalists’ Day Celebrated in Syria Safe Zone

Azaz Yunus Emre Institute continues to bring the people of the region together in cultural and intellectual circles through events organized for different age and professional groups in the Syria Safe Zone.

Azaz Yunus Emre Institute, which brings together the people living in the region around different themes, especially language, culture, art and literature, organized a conference titled "The Future of Journalism" on the occasion of January 10, Working Journalists' Day.

Hosted by the Institute, the program was attended by the President of the Syrian Press Federation Jalal Tellawi, Head of the Nahda University Institute of Social Sciences Alaa Al Abdullah, Euphrates News Agency Correspondent Ula Sheikh Ibrahim, representatives of local institutions and organizations, people interested in media literacy and invited guests.

The conference started with the commemoration of all the journalists who fell martyrs while practicing their profession. The President of the Syrian Press Federation Jalal Tellawi delivered a speech on "Journalism in Syria Before and After the Revolution", followed by the President of the Nahda University Institute of Social Sciences Alaa Al Abdullah's speech on "The Past, Present and Future of Journalism", and Euphrates News Agency Correspondent Ula Sheikh Ibrahim's speech on "Problems and Solutions Faced by Journalists in the Field".

The importance of journalism, the story of journalism from past to present and the future of journalism were discussed at the conference.

YEI’S ACTIVITIES IN SYRIA SAFE ZONE

Yunus Emre Institute started its activities in the city of Azaz in Syrian Safe Zone in 2020 and opened its representative offices in Afrin, al-Bab and Jarabulus in a short period of time.

Organizing various activities to spread Yunus' philosophy and culture of peace in Syrian Safe Zone, the Institute continues to bring the people of the region together around peace and Turkish culture.
