Yunus Emre Institute is promoting Turkish culture for Kazakh children with Karagöz and Hacivat shadow play performances, conducted with support from Nur Sultan Education Directorate.

The plays are staged by Kazakh artists for the students aged between 7 and 10. The shadow play, which was first staged at the "SOS Kids Village" orphanage, was brought to the students of the international Nazarbayev Intellectual School on April 3, 2019.

The plays organized every year as part of the festivities of the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day will be performed at two orphanages and eight primary schools this year. On April 23, Kazakh and Turkish children will be able to watch the "Karagöz and Hacivat" shadow play together, and the performance will be held at the Students Palace with a capacity of 9,000 seats.
