Keloglan and the Forty Thieves Fairy Tale Concert Held in Vienna

Yunus Emre Institute continues to bring the richness of Turkish culture to the world stage by carrying out a wide range of cultural interaction activities in different regions of the world.

Vienna Yunus Emre Institute and Vienna Folk Opera joined forces to organize a fairy tale concert titled "Keloglan and the Forty Thieves".

TURKISH FAIRY TALES BROUGHT CHILDREN TOGETHER

Hundreds of Turkish and Austrian children attended the fairy tale concert held on December 8, 2022 at the Vienna Folk Opera, which has been in operation since 1898 and is one of the most important operas in Vienna.

Vienna Folk Opera artists and Ensemble Olivinn performed at the program, where Turkish fairy tales were presented in Turkish and German, along with music.

In her remarks on the event, YEI Vienna Coordinator Ayşe Yorulmaz stated that the Institute organizes many activities across Austria to introduce the works of Turkish literature to children and adults alike.

Coordinator Yorulmaz noted: "It makes us proud to see that children as well as adults show great interest in Turkish literature. We will continue to organize a wide range of activities to promote Turkish culture in Austria on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic, as we did with this event."

TICKETS SOLD OUT IN A SHORT TIME

The fairy tale concert "Keloglan and the Forty Thieves", which was held three times on December 4, 5 and 8, 2022, attracted great interest from children and all tickets were sold out in a short time.

THE INSTITUTE LEAVES TRACES OF TURKEY IN AUSTRIA

Vienna Yunus Emre Institute has been carrying out many activities in fields ranging from language, literature, cinema and theater to music and handicrafts since 2015, in order to increase the cultural exchange between Turkey and Austria.
