‘’Media Literacy and Turkish Workshop in the Digital Age’’ in Serbia

Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) and Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) organized the third “Workshop on Media Literacy and Turkish in the Digital Age” in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, which was organized as chain meetings with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Yunus Emre Institute President, Prof. Şeref Ateş, stated that together with RTÜK, they set out to tell other countries about Turkey’s experiences in the digital age, and said, “A culture is not the opposite or alternative of another culture, but rather a complement. We see that different solutions are produced for different problems in 65 points of the world.’’

Stating that they organized such a workshop in order to bring Turkish together with other cultures in the digital age and not to be caught unprepared for this age, Prof. Ateş said that scientists aimed to open new horizons with their presentations at the workshop. 

SERBIA-TURKEY RELATIONS ARE AT AN EXCELLENT LEVEL

Turkey’s Ambassador to Belgrade, Hami Aksoy, also stated that Turkey’s relations with Serbia are at an excellent level and said. “Our factories in Serbia contribute significantly to employment. We expect a record in the number of mutual tourists this year.’’

Expressing how Turkish is transferred to the media along with technological developments within the scope of the workshop, Aksoy said, “Today, Turkish TV series are watched in almost every house in Serbia. One reason is that we have lived together for centuries. The transfer of media content is also important.’’

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DIGITAL MEDIA LITERACY SHARED

The workshop, in which international academic exchanges were held, attracted great attention. The event, in which valuable information about digital media literacy was shared, brought together young people across the country.

Sessions on “Media Literacy in the Digital Age, Turkish Language, and the Metaverse Effect’’, “Learning Turkish in the Digital Age’’, “New Ways of Communication in the Digital Age’’, “The Power of Social Media in the Digital Age’’, and “Metaverse Effect’’ were organized at the 6th workshop held in Belgrade after Brussels, Budapest, Bucharest, Vienna, and Casablanca.
