Mekelle University and TABİP Share Experience

The event entitled "Creation of Academic and Scientific Cooperation Network and Experience Sharing Between TABİP and Mekelle University" has been held in Ethiopia.

The event entitled "Creation of Academic and Scientific Cooperation Network and Experience Sharing Between TABİP and Mekelle University" has been conducted at Mekelle University, one of the leading universities in Ethiopia, within the framework of the Academic and Scientific Cooperation Project (TABİP),

conducted by Yunus Emre Institute under the auspices of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey. The event was attended by Dr. Muluaem Gebreslassie, who was working at the Mekelle University and benefiting from the PoCFP program, Macit KOÇ, who was an adviser to the TABİP and, at the same time, an adviser on industrial contact to the Mekelle University, Girmanesh Gidey from the Mekelle University and Tensae Alemayehu, a student attending the Mekelle University.

During the event held to promote the TABİP and ensure that the participants can talk about their experiences about the TABİP Summer Academy (TSA), Dr. Mulualem gave information on the establishment purpose and goals of the TABİP and the opportunities of the TABİP Portal.

The program was covered by the media outlets of the university, and Girmanesh Gidey and Tensae Alemayehu, a student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who had attended the TSA, the first of which had been conducted in 2019, described their experiences for the participants.

Girmanesh Gidey, who had attended the TABİP Summer Academy and been invited by Istanbul Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karaca to do master's thesis in Turkey, stressed the importance of the academic and scientific cooperation between Turkey and Africa through the TABİP.

Tensae Alemayehu indicated that he had gone abroad for the first time upon his acceptance to the TSA program and his dream of seeing model helicopters, airplane and drones came true in Turkey. Thanks to the training he received in Turkey, he had a chance to make tests and applications on aircraft, Alemayehu stated that he had been able to contact universities and institutes via the TABİP Portal and with support from the Institute.
