Radio Voice of Turkish Introduction Night in Ankara Palas

Publicity meeting of Sound of Turkish Radio was held in Ankara Palas State Guesthouse on 23 December 2015. President of Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Prof. Dr. Hayati Develi stated that Sound of Turkish Radio was a mere fantasy at first and the primary goal of establishing the radio is “to instruct Turkish and promote Turkish instruction”. Prof. Dr. Hayati Develi made a speech in the Publicity Meeting of Sound of Turkish Radio, founded with the aim of “bringing sound of Turkey and Turkish to larger masses and making Turkish instruction more popular around the world”, and marked that the Institute's primary objective is to build new culture and peace bridges between Turkey and all peoples of the world.

Institute President underlined that Turkey has sufficient cultural background to offer and share with peoples of the world, and spoke as follows: “We must work on that and bring it to larger masses. In order to achieve that, we must teach our language first. Then we must seek and find opportunities to reach people, explain and introduce ourselves and make new friends by promoting and teaching our language.”

Institute President Prof. Dr. Hayati Develi informed the audience on radio station's establishment and marked that everyone benefits from foreign radio stations in learning foreign languages, and spoke as follows: “We set off thinking 'we can also establish a radio station to instruct Turkish and promote Turkish instruction. A radio station to promote and improve Turkish instruction, and provide material for that purpose. We can utilize the web and establish an internet radio.' In the beginning it was merely a fantasy. How to achieve that, does our budget allow? Thank God we realized this project within a year. Now we have a radio station we named 'Sound of Turkish'. It is definitely not our intention to be a rival to TRT. However we believe that we led the way in Turkish instruction.”

Individuals all over the world who aspire to learn Turkish may easily access Sound of Turkish Radio via smartphones and social media, which offers shows prepared in standard language instruction system as determined in European Language Portfolio. Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day, airing shows on various topics on basic, intermediate and advanced language levels. With this feature, Sound of Turkish Radio leads the way in the world in foreign language instruction.

At the end of the event, an award ceremony was organized for various institution and organizations which contributed in Sound of Turkish Radio. Anadolu Agency (AA) was awarded for contributing to the content of Sound of Turkish Radio. A painting was presented to Corporate Communication Director Esra Kireççi who attended to the ceremony on behalf of AA by Yunus Emre Foundation Member of Board of Trustees and Atatürk Culture Language and History High Commission Chairman Prof. Dr. Derya Örs. Kireççi who made a speech in the ceremony congratulated Yunus Emre Enstitüsü for establishing Sound of Turkish Radio.

Radio station and studio are set up in a way to make terrestrial and satellite broadcast in coming years, and Radio Voice of Turkish can be listened via http://turkceninsesi.yee.org.tr  where an internet connection is present.
