Special Talk with Turkologist Emel Emin in Constanta
Hosted by Constanta Yunus Emre Institute, an interview was held with the author of the book "A Life Dedicated to Turkish in Romania, Poet Emel Emin, Her Life, Poetry and All of Her Poems" Dr. Kürşad Kara and retired Turkologist Emel Emin on May 24, 2022.
In the interview in which Tuna Balkan, Coordinator of Constanza Yunus Emre Institute, gave the opening speech, Consulate General of Turkey in Constanta Emre Yurdakul, Turkish Inspector İcbal Anefi, and many poets, writers, academics, and literature lovers attended.
The life of poet Emel Emin, one of the first Turkish teachers in Romania, who devoted her life to teaching Turkish to people, is the main theme of the work in question. Written on the life and poems of poet and Turkologist Emel Emin, this work has the distinction of being the first academic study about her in Turkey. Emel Emin, who is also a member of the Romanian Writers' Union and one of the most important representatives of Turkish literature in Romania, wrote stories as well as poetry, which were published in various magazines. After the 1989 revolution in Romania, she taught Turkish Language and Literature at the Ovidius University of Constanta. Emin also taught Ottoman Turkish and Ottoman Paleography courses at the Faculty of History.
"SHE IS A BRILLIANT NAME OF TURKISH LITERATURE"
In the program, the author of the work, Bayburt University Faculty of Education Deputy Dean Dr. Kürşad Kara, said, “Emel Emin is a brilliant name in Romanian Turkish literature. She is a valuable intellectual. She is one of the outstanding poets of our contemporary literature, with her free and open designs, her lush and smooth utterance, lyricism and reckless manner. Emel Emin has frequently included important poets and writers of Turkish literature and the subjects that became a part of the society in her poems.”
Retired Turkologist Emel Emin, on the other hand, thanked Dr. Kürşad Kara and Constanta Yunus Emre Institute for hosting the promotional program and read a few of her poems.
The interview ended with the signing ceremony and a group photo shoot.
