Traditional Ottoman Desserts in Italy

Traditional Ottoman desserts have been showcased for Italians at an event held in Rome, the capital of Italy.

The event conducted jointly by Yunus Emre Institute's Rome Branch, Ünye Municipality and Ünye Multipurpose Community Center (ÇATOM) contained a presentation on cooking unique desserts from the Ottoman cuisine, their place and importance in Turkish culture as well as the consumption habits.

Following the presentation, the Ottoman desserts cooked by Chef Ercan Yılmaz and his team, including helatiye, paluze, baklava, lokma, sütlaç, helva, ashura, kadayıf, kalburbastı and Turkish delight were served for the guests.

The program was quite popular among Italians who had a chance not only to learn more about the traditional Ottoman desserts, but also taste them.
