Traditional Turkish Fabric Printing Exhibition in Tokyo

An exhibition on Turkish traditional fabric printing was held at the Yunus Emre Institute in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. 

Colorful fabrics made with the traditional printing technique and the tools used in this technique were exhibited in the exhibition, which was opened to visitors on June 14, 2022, at the Tokyo Yunus Emre Exhibition Hall. The collection, which has been collected for many years, attracted the intense interest of Japanese visitors. Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Turkey’s Ambassador to Tokyo, Korkut Güngen, expressed his admiration for the collection.

The curator of the exhibition was Satoko Norihara, who was educated and researched Turkish Fabric printing. Norihara has expertise, especially in Tokat printing.

Workshops were also held every day during the exhibition. The exhibition remained open to visitors until June 27.
