Turkish and Children’s Festival in Romania

Yunus Emre Institute’s centers located in the cities of Bucharest and Constanta in Romania organized various activities for children on the occasion of World Children’s Day, celebrated on June 1 and Turkish Holiday on June 5. Children, who showed great interest in the activities, had lots of fun.

SPECIAL FESTIVAL FOR WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY AND TURKISH HOLIDAY IN BUCHAREST

Combining World Children’s Day celebrated on June 1 in Romania and Turkish Holiday on June 5, Bucharest Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) organized a festival with the participation of approximately 300 children from different schools in Bucharest on June 3, 2022.

The event hosted by Bucharest Yunus Emre Institute Director Mustafa Yıldız was attended by Yunus Emre Institute Vice President Assoc. Dr.  Ahmet Naim Çiçekler and Democratic Turkish Union of Romanian Bucharest President Turhan Şemsi. In the event where Turkish songs were sung, the children gave speeches on the history of the Turkish language, read Turkish poems.

At the event, where the Turkish and Romanian common proverb and idioms competition was held, glass blowing, marbling art, shadow play, cooking workshop, jigsaw puzzles, making of Turkish cultural items from play dough, and many other activities were carried out.

Turkish products and gift packages belonging to Yunus Emre Institute were given to the children. Children had a pleasant time with various songs, especially Barış Manço.

“Kite and Children’s Festival’’ was organized on the occasion of June 1, Romanian Children’s Day, by the Constanta Yunus Emre Institute operating on the Black Sea coast of Romania.

During the event, which took place in a colorful festive atmosphere for children, it was stated that the children had a day to their heart’s content in the program that took place both in the Institute center and on the seaside.

Children participating in the activity were introduced to marbling art through the instructors at the institute. Afterward, the children had a great time at the kite festival held by the seaside.
