Guests for its first official Turkish Coffee Happy Hour of Fall 2019 have been welcomed in Washington, DC, the capital of the United States of America.

Yunus Emre Institute's Washington DC Branch invited a handful of guests to the Turkish Coffee Happy Hour, where they could relax after a hectic day, thus bringing together people from diverse segments of society who are eager to get to know Turkish culture more closely.

The guests were briefed about the place of coffee in Turkish culture, its history, traditional brewing methods and presentation, and had a chance to brew their own Turkish coffee on sand. The guests sipped the coffee they brewed with Turkish delight and posed for photo to remember the moment for 40 years to come.

Turkish coffee was included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013 by UNESCO. The Turkish Coffee Happy Hour will host new guests in the first week of every month.
