The "Turkish Film Week," held in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, has brought Turkish cinema's prominent films to Moroccan moviegoers.

The "Turkish Film Week," curated by Yunus Emre Institute with support from the Directorate General of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, was launched in Rabat between November 22 and 29, 2019. The event was housed at Atlas Cinema as six Turkish films, which received awards at international festivals, were presented to the taste of moviegoers.

The film week was opened with the screening of "Buğday" (Grain) by Semih Kaplanoğlu and included "Ertuğrul 1890," which focused on the historical relations with Japan, "Dedemin İnsanları" (My Grandfather's People), in which Çağan Irmak described his childhood, "Genç Pehlivanlar" (Young Wrestlers), in which Mete Gümürhan opened the door into the world of children in a documentary setting, "Deliler," and "Bir Gün Bir Çocuk," in which Sinan Sertel delved into the world of children, and all films attracted a great deal of attention from the Moroccan people among whom Turkish soaps were popular.

As part of the film week, Mete Gümürhan, the director of "Genç Pehlivanlar," Sinan Sertel, the director of "Bir Gün Bir Çocuk," and actor Mehmet Usta came together with moviegoers. It was noted that it is crucial to touch people's hearts through the language of cinema.

The "Turkish Film Week," organized for the first time in Morocco, ended with the screening of "Bir Gün Bir Çocuk," directed by Sinan Sertel, with the intention of holding it again in coming years.
