Turkish Students Meet at the Iftar Program in Cairo

The iftar program organized at Cairo Yunus Emre Institute (YEI), which continues its activities in the capital of Egypt, brought together Turkish students studying in this country.

Turkey’s Cairo Charge d’affaires Kemalettin Uygur, Cairo Yunus Emre Institute Director Emin Boyraz, Educational Counselor Şaban Karataş, President of Egyptian-Turkish Student Union, and Turkish students studying at Al-Azhar University and other universities attended Iftar program organized at Cairo Yunus Emre Institute.

Ramazan Ökkeş Başpınar, one of the students studying in Egypt, in his statement after the iftar program, said, “Happy Ramadan to everyone. Today, a special iftar program invitation was given to students studying in Egypt at the Cairo Yunus Emre Institute. We would like to thank Emin Boyraz, Cairo Yunus Emre Institute Director, for hosting us.’’

Stating that they had a great time at the organization, Başpınar said, “Educational Counselor Şaban Karataş and Charge d’affaires Kemalettin Eruygur accompanied us in the iftar program. We had a very nice iftar, very nice evening.’’

Melike Soylu, another Turkish student who participated in the iftar program, said that she was a student at Boğaziçi University Department of Sociology, and she came to Egypt as an exchange student at Cairo American University.

Soylu also noted that thanks to the Cairo Yunus Emre Institute, she had the opportunity to meet many international students and valuable people at many different events.

“TRADITIONAL RAMADAN EVENINGS’’ PROGRAM IN CAIRO

As part of the “Traditional Ramadan Evenings’’ program organized by the Cairo Yunus Emre Institute, iftar was given for three days at the Institute on April 12-14, 2022. In the program, where many guests such as graduate students, children’s classes, and Turkologists were hosted, the shadow play, which was exhibited with coffee on the sand, was presented to participants.
