"Voice of Divine Love" International Hymn Composition Competition

The traditional Voice of Divine Love International Hymn Composition Competition is organized by the Hafız Abdullah Nazırlı (HAN) Foundation this year once again under the main sponsorship of Yunus Emre Institute. The compositions created of Yunus Emre poems will compete in this year's competition within the scope of Yunus Emre and Turkish Year. 

The first of the Voice of Divine Love International Hymn Composition Competition was organized by Han Foundation in 2016 with the support of public and private institutions, the second competition was organized in 2019 with the support of our Institute, and the third one is being organized this year upon great interest. The third of the Voice of Divine Love International Hymn Composition Competition was decided to be organized this year due to the YUNUS EMRE YEAR, and a large number of applications are expected for the competition.

Thanks to this international competition, Turkish music gained many works of Hymns and Na'ats.

100 LYRICS OF YUNUS EMRE ARE SELECTED FOR THE COMPETITION

The competitors can apply to the competition online and will compose a maximum of three works out of the 100 lyrics that have been chosen amongst the poems of Yunus Emre by the scholars of literature and composition.

The works sent for the competition will be evaluated in three phases. In the first phase, the competition committee will review the works' conformance to the specifications, and the nonconformant works will be eliminated. In the second phase, 30 works will be selected among those that have been evaluated online. In the third phase, 19 works will be selected and announced by the Evaluation Committee.

A TOTAL OF 50,000 TRY WILL BE AWARDED

At the Gala and Award Ceremony concert, a total of 50,000 TRY will be awarded for the winning 19 works that will be selected upon the evaluations made by the Evaluation Committee as per the evaluation criteria formed according to the scientific music rules and principles by the HAN Foundation.

THE COMPETITION WILL LAST SIX MONTHS

The applications for the competition will be opened on June 10, 2021 and will continue till the evening of June 30, 2021. The compositions will be evaluated online between October 10-20, 2021, and after the final evaluations at the meeting on October 30, 2021, the results will be announced to public via the press conference on November 10, 2021. The date for the gala and awards ceremony concert will be announced later.

EXECUTIVE AND EVALUATION COMMITTEES HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED

The competition will be opened for applications on June 10, the applications will be completed by September 30, 2021, and the Executive Committee of the competition, which will be organized under the main sponsorship of Yunus Emre Institute and with the support of the institutions such as TRT and Directorate of Religious Affairs, will be as follows:

Former Minister of Industry and Commerce Ali Coşkun as the president, HAN Foundation President of the Executive Board M. Vehbi Nazırlı, Journalist Mehmet D. Özülker and Composer-Musician Prof. Suat Kıyak as members.
