Yunus Emre Institute continues its activities, intending to spread Turkish culture all over the world and teach Turkish to the world. Yunus Emre Institute, which has cultural centers in Argentina and Mexico in South America, is opening a new center in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay, to continue its activities. Evaluating the activities of Yunus Emre Institute, Institute President Prof. Dr. Şeref Ateş emphasized that their primary goal is to teach Turkish all over the world and said, "When they start speaking Turkish, they start thinking and acting in Turkish. This is to increase the international validity of our language. On the other hand, we want Turkish to be a language of science, a language of thought, and most importantly, of course, a worldwide language of communication. For this reason, Yunus Emre Institute has been actively spreading all over the world since the day it was founded."

"YUNUS EMRE INSTITUTE AND TURKISH LANGUAGE HAVE AN APPROACH THAT EMBRACES ALL LIVING BEINGS"

Stating that there is a great interest in Turkish culture, Prof. Dr. Ateş said, "The whole world tried and tested Western cultures with modernism. Albeit superficially, we all have been affected, including Türkiye. Around the world, there is a movement of returning to human values, returning to the essence. In this sense, Yunus Emre Institute and the Turkish language have an approach that embraces all living beings, not for show and diplomacy. That is why we see the impact of this. There are millions of people who want to learn Turkish, who want to get to know Turkish cuisine, who want to get to know the Turkish way of thinking, intellectuals, and literature."

"BALANCED POLITICS BETWEEN RUSSIA AND UKRAINE GIVES CONFIDENCE AND PEACE TO THE REGION"

Underlining that the Turkish way of life and thought has reached many countries thanks to Turkish TV series and that many people want to learn Turkish, Ateş said, "Post Covid-19 is essential. Covid-19 has affected the whole world, all countries have been shaken, but Türkiye has been the fastest to recover from this convulsion. Not only from a humanitarian point of view but also from a technical point of view, i.e. the fact that factories are functioning, production is continuing and development moves are continuing, the eyes of the whole world are fixed on Türkiye. Especially in the recent period, the fact that the Republic of Türkiye acts as an ambassador of peace in terms of policy and the balanced policy pursued between Russia and Ukraine, especially by our President, gives confidence and peace to the region."

"INTEREST IN TURKISH YOUTH HAS BEEN INCREASING ALL OVER THE WORLD"

Pointing out that many people living abroad want to travel to Türkiye, Ateş said, "Our Minister of Culture and Tourism has also announced that we will probably exceed 50 million by the end of the year. The fact that 50 million people came to Türkiye immediately after Covid-19 is a great success despite the poor economic conditions all over the world. Many countries may not be able to attract as many people to their countries even though they organize international events in their own countries. Therefore, the first impact is tourism. The second impact is trade. Interest in Turkish goods is increasing from all over the world. It is especially valuable in terms of manpower. We should not just think that our young people are going to other countries. Interest in Turkish youth has been increasing all over the world. They go all over the world as trained and qualified people."

"THERE IS NO OBSTACLE FOR OUR TV SERIES EXPORTS TO REACH 5 BILLION"

Yunus Emre Institute President Şeref Ateş stated that people not only from the nearby geography but also from all over the world learned about Türkiye and Turkish through the TV series and continued his words as follows:

"Turkish motifs stand out, and our way of life, our way of thinking stands out. Therefore, before the Yunus Emre Institute cultural centers were established, there was a readiness in the international arena to learn new things about Türkiye through Turkish media, Turkish TV series, and Turkish cinema. So when we chase that, we teach Turkish. Thus, ties with Türkiye are increasing. In terms of export figures, the open world and the whole world are in communication. More of an, it has economic benefits. Currently, according to experts in the field, we have a TV series export revenue of 500 million dollars. There is no obstacle to this hopefully reaching 5 billion in the coming years."

Prof. Dr. Ateş gave the good news that the representative offices opened in South American countries will not be limited to Argentina, Mexico, and Uruguay and that they have started representative activities in countries such as Brazil, Chile, and Venezuela.
