Special Iftar Program for Persons with Disabilities in Morocco [1]
Under the auspices of the Turkish Embassy in Rabat, an iftar program was organized for persons with disabilities in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) and Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled.
Approximately 100 disabled people and their companions, and those working in the field of helping and rehabilitating people with disabilities, participated in the program held at the residence of the Turkish Embassy in Rabat on April, 16th, 2022.
Turkey’s Rabat Ambassador Ahmet Aydın Doğan, Rabat Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Ensar Fırat, Mohammed VI National Center for the Disabled Director Halid Binhassan, ambassadors of many countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan, and representatives of diplomatic missions participated in the iftar program.
PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES MINGLE WITH SOCIETY
In the program that started with the recitation of the Quran, Ambassador made a speech, and hymns from Turkish Sufi and Andalusian music were performed by Moroccan artist Yusuf Lebib.
Rabat Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Fırat said that they had started organizing iftar programs for disabled persons six years ago. Fırat noted that with this iftar, Yunus Emre Institute also tried to contribute to the integration of disabled people into society.
The program ended with the presentation of dishes from Moroccan and Turkish cuisine.
