The students who have come to Turkey from different countries around the world to learn about Turkey historical and cultural heritage on the spot have gone to Gallipoli as part of their historical voyage in Turkey. The participants visited the Çanakkale Martyrs' Memorial, erected in memory of our soldiers who were martyred during the Battle of Çanakkale, and had a chance to see the region where a legendary war had been fought.

The participants also visited the "Çanakkale Saga Promotion Center" which had been established to transfer the unique and unparalleled heroic stories of the Battle of Çanakkale from one generation to another and explain the spirit of the Battle of Çanakkale to the individuals from other culture visiting our country. The students have watched various sections from the Battle of Çanakkale, recreated using advanced simulation techniques and moving platforms.

In Gallipoli, featuring also an exhibition hall with the materials used during the Battle of Çanakkale and dioramas about the battle, a library containing the publications on the battle, and social facilities, the student had a chance to have a chat with Head of the Area İsmail Kaşdemir, who briefed them about the center. Kaşdemir indicated that they were proud about the activities undertaken by Yunus Emre Institute abroad and glad to see 21 participants from 21 countries in Çanakkale. Kaşdemir stressed that they sought to promote the atmosphere in the area at an international scale. "It is our aim to make sure that the entire world learns about this saga recorded in golden letters into history," he said. Chatting with the Archaeology Summer School participants, Kaşdemir stated that the spirit of Çanakkale stirs people's hearts and he was happy to see the glitter in the eyes of the participants.
