“Breath for the Future” Event in Rwanda

As part of the monthly “Umuganda Day” in Rwanda, a tree planting initiative, dubbed “Breath for the Future” took place in the capital city of Kigali, in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute.

Aslan Alper Yüksel, Turkish Ambassador to Kigali, along with members of the Embassy, participants of the Institute’s programs, Rwandan youth who completed their studies in Türkiye, and Turkish citizens all joined the tree planting event, which was organized in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute in Kigali and Kigali University.

Set to breathe life into the future

Enes Karaçoban, Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute in Kigali operating under the University of Kigali, mentioned that as part of the event themed “Breath for the Future,” they planted 100 trees at the Ndera Education Hospital.

Aslan Alper Yüksel, Turkish Ambassador to Kigali expressed gratitude to the Rwandan authorities and the Yunus Emre Institute in Kigali for organizing the event.

“A pleasant indication of the friendship between Türkiye and Rwanda”

Ambassador Yüksel noted that Turkish citizens in Rwanda demonstrated their respect for local traditions by joining the “Umuganda Day” event, adding, “This is a pleasant indication of the friendship between Türkiye and Rwanda.”

Ambassador Yüksel emphasized that such events play a significant role in environmental conservation.

Yunus Emre Institute in Kigali remains committed to enhancing the bonds between Türkiye and Rwanda through its diverse projects and activities across various diplomatic fronts.
