Elif Appears As First Guest at You Have A Guest

Yunus Emre Institute has come up with another cultural event held online due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

Damla Güvenilir, the lead actress in the Turkish soap "Elif," has been the first guest of "You Have A Guest" (Misafiriniz Var), an event launched by Yunus Emre Institute's Sarajevo branch to enhance motivation of kids during the time they stay at home and maintain their interaction with Turkey.

Güvenilir has many fans in Bosnia and Herzegovina and had previously attended the children's festival held in Bosnia and Herzegovina as the Institute's guest. She met the students who learn Turkish as part of the Institute's "My Choice Is Turkish" project.

The live broadcast program, also attended by Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Sarajevo Haldun Koç, attracted a great deal of attention of kids. Expressing her satisfaction over being a guest at the program, Güvenilir stated that she was reading books and studying during the quarantine.

During the event, the students who learn Turkish in Bosnia and Herzegovina asked questions to Güvenilir. The children thanked Turkey and Yunus Emre Institute.

Turkish TV series are very popular in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as elsewhere around the world and they serve to enhance interest in Turkey, Turkish culture and Turkish language. The Turkish TV series has followers from all ages as they bring Turkish culture and traditions to the homes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With its "My Choice Is Turkish" project, Yunus Emre Institute has taught Turkish to about 8,500 students and organized numerous cultural, artistic and sportive events.
