The film "Türk İşi Dondurma" debuts in Europe during the "Turkish Film Week" in London

The film "Türk İşi Dondurma" (Turkish Ice Cream) has made its Europe debut during the "Turkish Film Week" event held in London by Yunus Emre Institute in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism General Directorate of Cinema. The film "Türk İşi Dondurma," directed by Can Ulkay, was aired for the sector representatives and the British press during the opening ceremony of the event second of which was held this year.

After the screening that took place at the Regent Street Cinema, director Can Ulkay and lead actors and actresses including Will Thorp, Carl Warthon, Marleen Mathews, James Farley and Tristan Alexander attended a talk moderated by journalist Philip Begson, a member of FIBRESCI. The film, also watched by Consul General of Turkey to London Çınar Ergin during the event, received high marks from the audience.

"Türk İş Dondurma" will be aired for all moviegoers at the Regent Street Cinema" on Sunday, April 28 as part of the 2nd Turkish Film Week, held by Yunus Emre Institute's London branch between April 24 and 30, 2019.

The screenplay of this historical drama, inspired by the real-life story of two Turks living in Australia during the Dardanelles campaign by raising camels and selling ice cream with a pushcart, was written by Gürkan Tanyaş. Its soundtrack was composed by famed composer and pianist Fahir Atakoğlu and its cast also includes Şebnem Bozoklu, Caner Kurtaran, Ali Atay, Alma Terziç and Erkan Kolçak Köstendil.

This year, some 100 Turkish films will be aired in 20 different cities around the world as part of Yunus Emre Institute's activities for promoting and strengthening the Turkish cinema sector in collaboration with the Directorate General of Cinema.
