Illumination Workshop for Children in Cologne

Continuing its activities to promote Turkish culture and arts in Germany, Cologne Yunus Emre Institute started its activities in the new year with an art workshop. The Institute brought the art of script illumination, which has an important place among the traditional Turkish handcrafts, together with the children in Cologne, in the workshop organized within the scope of the "Turkish Culture Meetings" activities.

SCRIPT ILLUMINATION AND MINIATURE ARTIST SUNA KOÇAL GOT TOGETHER WITH CHILDREN

Suna Koçal, script illumination and miniature artist within the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, brought the art of script illumination together with children and young people in Cologne at the event on 8 January 2022.

In the workshop, script illumination, which is one of the traditional Turkish arts, was thoroughly introduced to the children. 

Cologne Vice-Consul Ahmet Atilla also attended of the event.

THEY LET THEIR CREATIVITY FLOW WITH THE MUNHANI PATTERN

Applying the 'munhani' pattern, the students showed their talents. The children had the opportunity to blend their own creativity with their gift for the art of script illumination.

Cologne Yunus Emre Institute will continue organizing new activities within the scope of the "Turkish Culture Meetings" series of events with its students and teachers.
