The “Itri and Bach” concert organized by Cologne Yunus Emre Enstitüsü  met with music lovers in Cologne on November 13, 2015. The concert juxtaposed the works of the contemporaneous masters of Western classical music Johann Sebastian Bach and classical Turkish music Buhurizade Mustafa Itri. Murat Aydemir, Çağ Erçağ, Serdar Mamaç, and Ertan Tetin performed the selected works. Itri and Bach pieces were performed together and in unison at the New Apostolic Church International. This synthesis of Western and Eastern classical music received high praise from Turkish and German visitors attending the concert.

In his opening speech, Institute Director Dr. Yılmaz Bulut emphasized the importance of German-Turkish friendship and greater international cooperation, resulting from the resolution of the antagonisms between the East and the West through intercommunal synthesis.
