The Love for Turkish Crosses the Borders
Yunus Emre Institute continues to organize activities that pave the way for intercultural interaction on the basis of Turkish language teaching through its over 80 foreign representative offices in different continents.
Beirut Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Esra Yılmaz and Tunis Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Ali İhsan Çevik moderated a digital speaking club with the participation of the Institute's trainees.
Trainees learning Turkish at Beirut and Tunis Yunus Emre Institutes discussed the cultural richness of Lebanon and Tunisia in the speaking club event held on May 12, 2023.
COMMON VALUES EXPLAINED IN TURKISH
During the event where the cultural richness of Lebanon and Tunisia was discussed in Turkish, the customs performed on special occasions, especially holidays, and traditions specific to the month of Ramadan were explained by the trainees.
A delightful conversation about the common and different cultural elements between Lebanon and Tunisia was held at the event, where the richness of the two countries' gastronomy and wedding customs were mentioned as intriguing cultural elements.
In their speeches on their countries' cultural heritage, the trainees drew attention to the similarities between Lebanese and Tunisian cultures in terms of common values such as the influence of Mediterranean culture due to the geography of the two countries, the Arabic language, and the similar mosaic of Islam, Christianity and Judaism in both countries.

In addition to promoting the exceptional qualities of Türkiye and the age-old Turkish culture in a wide range of regions from the Far East and South America to Africa and Europe, Yunus Emre Institute carries out projects and activities that create cultural interaction between Türkiye and other countries in various channels in the regions where its representative offices are located.
