Macedonian Soldiers Learn Turkish

12 soldiers from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of North Macedonia, who received Turkish training courses from Yunus Emre Institute, have been given their certificates.

The ceremony held on Wednesday, June 26 at the Macedonian Ministry of Defense was attended by Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Skopje Tülin Erkal Kara, Deputy Chief of General Staff of North Macedonia Major General Azim Nuredin, and public security officers from Turkey and North Macedonia.

The Turkish language courses were launched in 2014 with the initiatives of and support from the Military Attaché of the Turkish Embassy in Skopje, and 150 soldiers from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of North Macedonia have attended the courses and learned to speak Turkish in five years.

In North Macedonia, Turkish language courses as well as numerous cultural and artistic activities have been held in cooperation with the Presidency of North Macedonia, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Information Society and Information, TAV, Halkbank, International Balkan University, and many other public bodies and organizations. Support is lent to Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, State University of Tetova, and Goce Delčev University of Štip for studies for specialization in Turkish language.
