Turkish Proficiency Exam Excitement Around the World
In line with Yunus Emre Institute's activities for the promotion of Türkiye, Turkish language and culture, many people around the world prefer Türkiye for their education and career opportunities and apply for the Turkish Proficiency Exam to realize their "Turkish dreams”.
The Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS), the first and only internationally recognized Turkish language exam developed by Yunus Emre Institute with the approval of the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE) Q-mark, was held in 2023 with an intense participation across the world, as in every year.
The first Turkish Proficiency Exam in 2023 was held simultaneously on January 14, 2023 at 37 test centers across 36 countries with the participation of nearly a thousand candidates.
TURKISH, THE COMMON GROUND OF DIFFERENT REGIONS
The Turkish Proficiency Exam, which is held to measure the Turkish language proficiency of individuals who learn Turkish as a second or foreign language, received intensive participation from both Türkiye and different parts of the world.
The Turkish Proficiency Exam drew interest in many countries such as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Syria Safe Zone, Afghanistan, Germany, Belgium, Kosovo and Russia.
THE FIRST AND ONLY INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED TURKISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY CERTIFICATE
The TYS, which has been administered periodically three times a year as a paper-based exam since 2013, measures the reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills of the candidates, and the successful candidates are given "Turkish Proficiency Certificate" at B2 and C1 levels according to their scores.

Candidates who hold a Turkish Proficiency Certificate can start their education at universities in Türkiye without attending a Turkish preparatory program. Turkish Proficiency Certificate provides a great advantage to certificate holders in job applications and career planning.
