Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Opens 43rd Centre in Qatar Capital Doha

Named after Yunus Emre, a Sufi that lived in Anatolia in the 13th and 14th centuries, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü will open Doha Yunus Emre Enstitüsü on 2 December Wednesday in Qatar's capital of Doha. 

As part of its 2023 Vision, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü that opens an average of 7 centers annually and aims to have opened 100 centers by 2023, added Doha to its centers in Middle East and Africa regions following centres in Amman, Beirut, Kabul, Tehran, Nicosia, Rabat, Algeria, Alexandria, Cairo, Pretoria, Jerusalem and Khartoum. 

Located in Eastern Arabian Peninsula and extending to The Persian Gulf, State of Qatar is one of the wealthiest countries in the world with regard to per capita income by means of rising oil prices and its natural gas reserves. State of Qatar frequently refers to the special importance they attach to Turkey in their foreign policies. Additionally Turkey-Qatar relations have significantly improved in recent years. Doha Yunus Emre Enstitüsü which can be considered as an outcome of these improved relations, was opened in 2015, the year Turkey-Qatar culture year was mutually declared and will thereby contribute in activities to be organized in this context. 

Doha Yunus Emre Enstitüsü will officially commence its operations after the opening ceremony to be honored by the President of Turkish Republic Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
