Yunus Emre Institute Promotes Turkish Culture Worldwide and Increases the Number of People Contributing to Türkiye

Yunus Emre Institute organizes activities to increase the number of people contributing to Türkiye by carrying Turkish, the legacy of Yunus Emre, and the ancient Turkish culture to all corners of the world.

In cooperation with Moscow Yunus Emre Institute and Vladimir Regional Administration, the "Türkiye Day" event was organized to showcase Türkiye's unique cultural heritage.

The event, which took place on May 31, 2023 in Vladimir, one of Russia's historically significant cities, was attended by Senator Olga Hohlova of the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian Parliament, Moscow Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Mehmet Ülker, Advisor to the Governor Dmitriy Kozlov representing the Vladimir Region Administration, and Russian and Turkish participants.

As part of the Türkiye Days event, a wide range of elements of Turkish culture were introduced, from traditional Turkish folk dances to the screening of Turkish films, from the singing of songs to the serving of Turkish dishes.

In her speech, Russian Senator Hohlova noted that the relations between Türkiye and Russia are developing closely and stated: "Today, projects in the interests of both sides are being implemented between Türkiye and Russia. Our friendly relations are developing. This is a positive development for both our countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin also supports the progress of relations in this direction."

Moscow Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Mehmet Ülker underscored that they are carrying out important work to ensure cooperation between Türkiye and Russia on the cultural front and stated: "It is our principle that the peoples of Türkiye and Russia get to know each other closely with their human and cultural values, and that we increase mutual interest in the protection, enrichment and development of traditional ties between the peoples."

TURKISH CULTURE WILL BE INTRODUCED IN VLADIMIR CITY WITH DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES

Coordinator Ülker emphasized that in order to create the basis for new collaborations in Vladimir City, large-scale activities will be organized in the future, including screenings of Turkish films, which will introduce Turkish culture from different perspectives and reach a wide audience.

Advisor to the Governor Dmitry Kozlov pointed out that relations between Türkiye and Russia are developing on the basis of mutual respect and trust, in line with their purpose. Kozlov noted:

"The Türkiye Day event is an important opportunity to discuss continued cooperation in many areas. It contributes to the increase of contacts in the fields of science, education, literature and art, the expansion of ideas about the culture and way of life of people from different countries, the development of friendship and mutual understanding between peoples."
