10th Anniversary Concerts From Ömer Faruk Tekbilek

Yunus Emre Institute is marking the 10th anniversary of its establishment with concerts and festivals organized in various parts of the world.

Operating with 58 centers in 48 countries to enhance Turkey's international recognition and contribute to cultural interaction around the world, the Institute has organized a series of special concerts with world famous Turkish musician and composer Ömer Faruk Tekbilek on the 10th anniversary of its establishment.

Tekbilek performed his compositions which masterfully blend Eastern and Western tunes as he was accompanied by Turkish musicians Mehmet Bahadır Şener and Murat Tekbilek, Italian musician Federico Ferrandina, Greek musicians Ioannis Dimitriadis and Christos Lampropoulos, and Israeli musician Shlomo Deshet.

First Concert in Nicosia

Organizing concerts, workshops, exhibitions and panel discussions with the mission of promoting Turkey with proper resources since 2014, Yunus Emre Institute's Nicosia Branch continues to ensure interaction between Turkish and Cypriot people, and it has recently hosted the 10th Anniversary Special Concert by Ömer Faruk Tekbilek, held within the framework of the festivities for the 10th anniversary of establishment of the Institute.

The opening of the concert program was held at Golden Tulip Hotel in Nicosia, the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, on Tuesday, October 15, and its next destination was Bosnia and Herzegovina.

10th Year Enthusiasm in Sarajevo

One of the events hosted by Yunus Emre Institute's Sarajevo Branch, which is the Yunus Emre Institute's first center opened abroad, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute was the concert by Ömer Faruk Tekbilek. In the concert held in Sarajevo's historic Sarajevo Library (Vijecnica) on Thursday, October 17, Turkish music was presented to the taste of the music lovers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the concert, a photography exhibition on the activities undertaken by the Cultural Center for the last 10 years was unveiled. The exhibition showcasing the Institute's activities in education, science, culture and art all around the globe garnered heightened interest of the attendees.

Final Destination: Belgrade

The last in the series of concerts held specially to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute was given in Belgrade.

In the concert given in Dom Omladina Cultural Center, the musicians performed Tekbilek's popular compositions, such as Hasret, Aşk, I Love You and Last Moments of Love.

"All colors of our culture in the same stage"

Sharing his views on the 10th anniversary concerts, Ömer Faruk Tekbilek stated that he took pride in bringing the colors of our culture to the stage. Tekbilek noted that the synergy created by the performance of Turkish melodies by the musicians in harmonious manner on the stage had a meaningful impact on the audience and they are glad to see the interest of the audience.
