Hosted by Vienna Yunus Emre Institute, the movie " The Wheat Grain" was screened for the appreciation of cinephiles.

The event was attended by Turkish Ambassador to Vienna Ozan Ceyhun, Vienna Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Ayşe Yorulmaz, AK Party 27^th Term Istanbul MP Serkan Bayram, whose life is the subject of the movie, Turkish and Austrian art lovers and many guests.

In her opening speech, Vienna Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Ayşe Yorulmaz stated that the audience will have the opportunity to learn about Bayram's life, his struggle and what he did for disabled individuals thanks to this movie.

Coordinator Yorulmaz added: " Through this program, we will be able to draw some attention to the lives of our disabled brothers and sisters, who number millions in our country and even all over the world."

A HISTORIC EVENT IN VIENNA

Turkish Ambassador to Vienna Ozan Ceyhun stated that this was a historic and extraordinary event for Vienna.

Ambassador Ceyhun stated that Bayram's work for disabled people cannot be praised enough and added: "We have approximately 6 million disabled citizens in our country. The rights of our disabled citizens are guaranteed by various laws, especially our constitution, as well as international conventions."

"We can gladly report that the awareness on this issue is increasing day by day in Türkiye and the personal rights of our disabled citizens are being improved." Ambassador Ceyhun stated that many mistakes and shortcomings can be overcome by developing civil society awareness.

After the two-hour movie screening, Serkan Bayram talked about the difficulties he experienced as a disabled person and his struggle against these challenges.

Answering the questions of the participants, Bayram said that the film aims to be a source of hope for disabled people and that they plan to establish a disabled life center with the income obtained.

In the last part of the program, the guests were served various delicacies from Turkish cuisine.
