Interest Increased in Turkish as a Global Language

Yunus Emre Institute continues its efforts to teach Turkish to foreigners in 2022 without slowing down. Thanks to the online Turkish courses organized by the Turkish Teaching and Turcology Directorate since the beginning of the pandemic, those who are interested in Turkish language and culture from all over the world have the opportunity to learn Turkish, regardless of time and place.

15,876 APPLICATIONS FROM 195 COUNTRIES

As of 2022, 15,876 people from 195 countries applied for Turkish courses via learnturkish.com, a part of Yunus Emre Institute’s technology-based teaching content. At the evaluation meeting held with the lecturers, Vice President of the Institute Assoc. Prof. Ahmet Naim Çiçek stated that tens of countries without cultural centers have been reached with online Turkish courses and that the Institute has become an important actor in the field of cultural diplomacy in Turkey, wishing the new period to be beneficial.   

Weekday and weekend Turkish courses were organized by instructors who are experts in their fields, through learning resources and an online learning platform. Thousands of people who want to learn Turkish were reached through the courses organized for all levels and ages, in accordance with the time zones of countries in different regions.

FACE TO FACE AND ONLINE TURKISH LEARNING OPPORTUNITY

In order to meet the increasing demand for learning Turkish during the challenging pandemic period all over the world, Yunus Emre Institute provides those who are unable to attend face-to-face courses the opportunity to learn Turkish language and culture by preparing digital learning content and organizing online courses, in addition to the courses held in cultural centers. All the advantages of the online learning experience are offered to Turkish enthusiasts with course instruction videos, book sets and digital books published on the Institute's YouTube channel.

Continuing its activities through 65 cultural centers around the world, Yunus Emre Institute aims to reach thousands of Turkish language and culture lovers by teaching Turkish, a global language and the language of civilization, in order to promote Turkish culture and strengthen international friendships by reaching regions where there are no cultural centers, with online courses.
