Traditional Turkish Archery Introduced to Senegalese
Traditional Turkish archery was introduced to Senegalese under the Kemankeş Project carried out in 16 countries by Dakar Yunus Emre Institute in cooperation with Yunus Emre Institute and Archers’ Foundation.
Senegalese people showed great interest in the traditional Turkish archery course, started at Dakar Yunus Emre Institute on December 4, 2022.
In the program attended by representatives of Turkish institutions, Institute trainees, Senegalese and fans of the sport, Aissatou Alassane Diedhieou, an instructor for the Kemankeş Project, and Halil İbrahim Efe, Education Officer of Dakar Yunus Emre Institute, introduced traditional Turkish archery.
Archery instructor Diedhieou thanked Yunus Emre Institute for giving him with the opportunity to study traditional Turkish archery in Turkey.

Continuing her master's degree in sports, Diedhieou said she enjoyed archery and was able to cover her school expenses by instructing archery.
Trainees who excel in the Turkish archery courses organized by Dakar Yunus Emre Institute will be sent to Turkey within the scope of the Ethnosports Festival traditionally held in Ahlat to participate in Turkish archery contests.
