Turkey's Colors in Night of Museums in Hungary

The 17th annual Night of the Museum was held under the auspices of the Hungarian state on Saturday, June 22. The event in which museums and cultural institutes across the country were open to visitors during the night was marked with special festivities in Budapest, the country's capital.

During the event, Yunus Emre Institute's Budapest Branch organized enjoyable workshops and cultural activities and opened its doors to visitors to promote Turkish culture between 18:00 and 00:30.

Thus, local desserts from the Turkish cuisine were promoted by Sevinç Kahraman, who described how to cook them as well while Hungarian marbling artists Boglárka Erdélyi and Vida Balázs demonstrated how the art was performed. At Neyhane, Gerzson Janos and Faruk Gürbüz talked about Turkish musical instruments and showed how to play them. There were also a gilding and miniature workshop, led by artists Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hülya Şanes Doğru and a calligraphy workshop by calligrapher Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Rıza Özcan.

The Sufi music performed by an ensemble consisting of Yasin Özçimi, Mehmet Evren Hacıoğlu and Tuncay Tuncay, from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey was presented to the taste of Hungarian people not only at the Institute, but also at Gül Baba Tomb and Hopp Ferenc Museum of Asiatic Arts.
