The Turkish Proficiency Exam (TYS), developed by Yunus Emre Institute (YEI), was held simultaneously in 40 test centers in 37 countries.

The TYS on September 17, 2022, which was held to measure the Turkish language proficiency of individuals who learn Turkish as a second or foreign language, attracted a large number of participants from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and the safe regions of Syria.

TYS has been implemented in countries in different geographies, such as Rwanda and Argentina, where Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centers are located, but also in places where there are no cultural centers such as Turkistan.

20 THOUSAND PEOPLE PARTICIPATED IN 48 COUNTRIES AND 63 EXAM CENTERS

While the Institute has conducted 25 Turkish Proficiency Exams so far, approximately 20 thousand people have taken the exam in 48 countries and 63 test centers to measure their Turkish language proficiency.

The TYS, which has been administered periodically three times a year as a paper-based exam since 2013, measures the reading, listening, writing, and speaking skills of the candidates, and the successful candidates are given "Turkish Proficiency Certificate" at B2 and C1 levels according to their scores.

The Turkish Proficiency Certificate, which has the ALTE Quality Mark (Q-mark), is the first and only internationally recognized Turkish language proficiency certificate.

Candidates who hold a Turkish Proficiency Certificate can start their education at universities in Turkey without attending a Turkish preparatory program. Turkish Proficiency Certificate provides a great advantage to certificate holders in job applications and career planning.
