Many people from all over the world prefer Türkiye for educational and career opportunities and apply for the Turkish Proficiency Exam in order to realize their “Türkiye dreams.”

The Turkish Proficiency Exam (TPE), the first and only internationally validated language test of Turkish, developed by Yunus Emre Institute, was held on August 5, 2023 with broad participation in different geographies of the world.

A large number of applications were made from Türkiye and different parts of the world for the Turkish Proficiency Exam, which is held to measure the Turkish language proficiency of individuals learning Turkish as a second or foreign language.

The third Turkish Proficiency Exam in 2023 was held simultaneously with the participation of more than two thousand candidates at 35 exam centers in 32 countries.

Turkish language skills of many people who want to realize their dreams about Türkiye were measured in reading, listening, writing and speaking sections in the Turkish Proficiency Exam, developed by the Institute, which is the first and only internationally validated language exam of Turkish, through being certified (Q-mark) by the Association of Language Testers in Europe (ALTE).

Record Application from Uzbekistan

According to the number of applicants, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Syria Safe Zone and Kazakhstan were respectively among the places where applications were made for the Turkish Proficiency Exam.

In the third application of 2023, a record number of applications were made from Uzbekistan. Turkish has become a key element in the country, as Turkish has been added to the list of languages for which language allowance is granted by the state authorities and has an important place in education and career opportunities in Uzbekistan.

Turkish has become a career language in Uzbekistan by adding Turkish to the languages such as Russian and English that are preferred to be learnt throughout the country.

The First and Only Internationally Valid Language Proficiency Certificate of Turkish

In the TPE, which has been applied periodically three times a year since 2013, the reading, listening, writing and speaking skills of the candidates are measured; candidates who are successful in the Turkish Proficiency Exam are given a "Turkish Proficiency Certificate" at B2 and C1 levels according to their scores.

Candidates who have a Turkish Proficiency Certificate can start their education at universities in Türkiye without going to the Turkish preparatory class. The Turkish Proficiency Certificate provides a great advantage to certificate holders in job applications and career planning.

With the privileges it provides in education and career opportunities in Türkiye, the interest shown in the Turkish Proficiency Exam in the international arena is increasing with each exam.
