A conference on child labor was held within the scope of the "Syria Safe Zone Psychological and Social Development Project" carried out by Yunus Emre Institute in the Syria Safe Zone.

At the conference hosted by Azaz Yunus Emre Institute with the slogan "Give me back my childhood", the problem of child labor in the region was discussed and solution suggestions were presented.

Within the scope of the project, the project team, consisting of students studying in the departments of guidance and psychological counseling, special education and classroom teaching at the University of Aleppo, conducted field studies with child workers working in industrial zones, streets and other places in the Syria Safe Zone, in order to better understand the living condition.

Syria Safe Zone Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Fikret Çıtak made the following statements about the conference:

“We continue to carry out studies in various fields, especially education, training, culture and art activities in different cities of the region. We conduct research focusing on psychological problems and sustainable solutions that are essential in the region. We hope that issues such as child labour, elderly care and early marriage, which constitute major problems in the region, will be researched and the society will be aware of these issues.”

It is aimed to raise awareness in the fight against social problems through the conference series to be held within the scope of the "Syria Safe Zone Psychological and Social Development Project".

Yunus Emre Institute, which carries out its activities in the Syria Safe Zone, plans to carry out activities to support the people of the region on various issues with the projects it has implemented.

Syria Safe Zone Psychological and Social Development Project

Yunus Emre Institute implemented the "Syria Safe Zone Psychological and Social Development Project" for war victims in the Syria Safe Zone in August 2023. Within the scope of the project, the Institute aims to find solutions to the problems of the people of the region, together with students studying in the departments of guidance and psychological counseling, primary school teaching, psychology, sociology and special education selected from universities in the region.
