Within the scope of this cooperation, the aim of teaching Turkish to all border police and customs guards of the Iraqi state comes to the fore with Turkish lessons that will continue with new classes to be opened in March.

In order to increase cultural interaction and encourage language learning, Yunus Emre Institute, in cooperation with the Iraqi Ministry of Internal Affairs, provides Turkish lessons to high-ranking police officers who graduated from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Baghdad University, to help high-ranking police officers improve their communication skills and learn the Turkish language more effectively.

Yunus Emre Institute Baghdad Coordinator Ahmet Can Turgut used the following expressions on the subject: “This project, which we started in cooperation with our Institute and the Iraqi Ministry of Internal Affairs, is an indication of the friendship and determination to work together between Türkiye and Iraq. Learning Turkish by border police and customs guards will contribute to further strengthening cooperation and communication with our border neighbor, Iraq."
