17th In-Service Training and Evaluation Program for the project “My Choice is Turkish” Held in Bosnia and Herzegovina

"17th Anniversary In-Service Training and Evaluation Program for the project My Choice is Turkish” was organized by the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo and Sarajevo Yunus Emre Institute.

The Deputy Minister of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye Ömer Faruk Yelkenci, Yunus Emre Institute President Professor Şeref Ateş and  Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarejevo Sadık Babür Girgin and many guests attended the program hosted by Gazi Hüsrev Bey Library in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Noting in his statement that the “My Choice is Turkish Project” and the “Sister School Project” have created a very strong unity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, "The program carried out today actually serves the entire project. "My Choice is Turkish Project" is very important for children in Bosnia and Herzegovina to learn Turkish and improve their ties with Türkiye,” Deputy Minister of National Education Ömer Faruk Yelkenci said.

Deputy Minister Yelkenci stated that the student exchange programs carried out within the scope of the Sister School Project are an important step towards the future.

Yunus Emre Institute President Professor Şeref Ateş mentioned that they came together within the scope of the “My Choice is Turkish Project” implemented by Yunus Emre Institute and made the following evaluations: "There are many subheadings of this project, such as strengthening the ties of children and young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina with Türkiye, increasing their professional competencies of instructors teaching Turkish in Bosnia and Herzegovina,  travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina for young people from Türkiye together with their families within the scope of the project.”

Stating that the  Yunus Emre Institute's "17th In-Service Training Program covers many important topics, especially the new methods used in foreign language teaching, within the framework of the main theme of teaching Turkish at international standards, Institute President Professor Ateş said that such programs contribute to strengthening the relations between the two countries.

My Choice is Turkish Project, carried out by Yunus Emre Institute with the support of the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Türkiye, ensures that Turkish is included in the curriculum as an elective course in primary, secondary and high schools abroad.

Trainers are Being Trained in Different Parts of the World

Yunus Emre Institute organizes "training of trainers" programs in order to contribute to the professional competencies of Turcologists, academics and teachers working in the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language at home and abroad.

In the training of trainers programs, Institute experts provide comprehensive training under many topics such as current studies, methods and approaches in the field.
