Latest Destination of the “International Meetings” Program: Italy

The latest destination of the “International Meetings” program series, organized in collaboration with the Yunus Emre Institute and Lacivert Magazine, part of the Turkuvaz Media Group, was Italy.

Prof. Kemal Sayar, author Ekrem Demirli, Savaş Barkçin, PhD, Lacivert Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Mustafa Akar, and Daily Sabah’s Editor-in-Chief İbrahim Altay participated as speakers in the program held at a hotel in the Italian capital city of Rome.  

Ömer Gücük, Turkish Ambassador to Rome, Yasemin Gebeş, General Manager of Turkuvaz Magazine, Turkish citizens living in Rome, Turkish students, and Italian guests attended the Italian edition of International Meetings.

Zafer Kıyıcı, Coordinator of Yunus Emre Institute in Rome, remarked, “We have hosted the ‘International Meetings’ organized in collaboration with Lacivert Magazine and the Institute here in Rome. During the program, we received significant interest from Turkish citizens residing in Rome as well as Turkish students studying here. Throughout our program, our distinguished speakers addressed important topics in the fields of literature, media, and psychology.”

Yasemin Gebeş, General Manager of Turkuvaz Magazine, mentioned that Rome was their fourth international destination and went on to add:

“One of the initiatives launched by Yunus Emre Institute to promote Turkish culture and language is the event series known as ‘International Meetings’. As Lacivert Magazine, during the Rome edition of the program, we conveyed our culture in our native language to Turkish residents and Romans interested in learning Turkish. We had highly esteemed participants join us. We got to listen to distinguished speakers from various fields.”

The program, spanning approximately two hours, featured discussions on various topics across literature, psychology, and media by prominent figures from Türkiye.

International Meetings concluded with a Q&A session.
