Atay wished Allah's mercy to those who lost their lives in the earthquake in Türkiye, condolences to their grieving families and a speedy recovery to the injured, and expressed his gratitude to Albania for their solidarity and support to Türkiye in the wake of the disaster.

"HASAN RIZA PASHA, WITH HIS EPIC STRUGGLE IN SHKODER, AND MANY BRAVE SOULS OF SHKODER, WITH THEIR STRUGGLE IN ÇANAKKALE, HAVE GONE DOWN ON HISTORY AS HEROES"

Atay emphasized that he was honored to celebrate the 108th anniversary of the March 18 Çanakkale Naval Victory, which turned the Turkish nation's bitter fate around, in a city as special as Shkoder: "As two nations that have lived together for five centuries and shared the same destiny, we are once again together to celebrate and commemorate this blessed victory and all our martyrs at the Memorial of Hasan Rıza Pasha, the defender of Shkoder, as we do every year. Hasan Rıza Pasha and Shkoder have a special place in the heart of our nation. Hasan Rıza Pasha, with his epic struggle in Shkoder, and many brave souls of Shkoder, with their struggle in Çanakkale, have gone down in history as heroes.”

Atay noted that Mehmet Akif Ersoy, the poet of the Anthem of Independence, is one of the key figures of the National Struggle and one of the most important common values of the Turkish and Albanian nations that have lived together in peace for centuries.
