The book titled "Sabihina Sofra" (Sabiha's Table), written by Sabina Daciç and containing traditional home cooking and dessert recipes, was introduced at Foynitsa Yunus Emre Institute on March 7th, 2024.

Dacic, who comes from the city of Priyepolye in the Sanjak region, explains in his book where Turkish and Bosnian traditional dishes come from and on what occasions they are prepared in the Balkans.

Sabiha spoke very emotionally about the importance of the table, the blessings brought by guests, immigrants and orphans, and their prayers, and said that she owed her success to this the most. Dacic stated that his aim is to introduce Bosnian women, their traditions, food, cuisine, the wisdom and pursuits of their grandmothers in the best possible way.

Bilal Dacic, son of Sabiha Dacic, a graduate student at the Faculty of Agriculture and Food at the University of Sarajevo, who has been cooking since the age of 11 and is a well-known name in the culinary world, talked about traditions and food.

The book "Sabiha's Table" was born as a book that will help introduce, popularize and therefore protect Bosnian traditional dishes. Dacic emphasizes the importance of these values in an age where the importance of gathering around the table is increasingly forgotten, family members sometimes eat separately, and less and less home-cooked meals are eaten at home. Emphasizing that respect for blessings encourages the bond and closeness between family members, Dacic states that this situation gives important messages to children about sharing, trust and bonding.

The program ended with Dacic answering the questions from the audience and the participants tasting the dishes in the book.
