Beirut Yunus Emre Institute Introduces the Indispensable Flavors of Turkish Cuisine to the "Ambassador Wives"

Yunus Emre Institute and Turkey's Beirut Embassy organized an event introducing Turkish cuisine to the ambassadors' wives in Lebanon.

Ambassador spouses from Chile, Brazil, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Azerbaijan, Antigua and Barbuda attended the event organized by Beirut Yunus Emre Institute.

At the Turkish cuisine promotion event, Esin Ulusoy, wife of Turkey's Beirut Ambassador Ali Barış Ulusoy, gave information to the guests about the history and recipes of the prepared dishes.

Karnıyarık, bulgur pilaf with vegetables, tzatziki and flour halva, which are among the indispensable flavors of Turkish cuisine, were prepared and presented by Lebanese Turkish Chef Yahya Salha.

Giving a speech at the event, Beirut Yunus Emre Institute Coordinator Esra Yılmaz emphasized the unifying power of gastro-diplomacy and its ability to reach hearts and minds through food.

Stating that Turkish cuisine is not just about doner kebabs and kebabs, and that the unique flavors of Turkish cuisine are introduced through Yunus Emre Institutes around the world, Yılmaz said that they will continue to promote Turkish cuisine by holding a cooking workshop every month in Beirut.
