Record level of participation to the first exam of the year was from Azerbaijan, just like the previous year, and 1088 test takers participated in the exam held at the YEI center in Baku.

The results of the Turkish Proficiency Exam will be announced at "sinav.yee.org.tr".

First exam was held in 2013.

TPE is a language proficiency exam developed by the YEI Exam Center according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in order to test the language proficiencies of individuals who learn Turkish as a foreign or a second language and for the purposes of supporting the policies that facilitate the acceptance of foreign students and creating a standardized language exam for the Turkish language that has international recognition.

The first Turkish Proficiency Exam, which tested the four basic language proficiencies of individuals aged 16 and above, was held in 2013. Since 2013, TPE has been held simultaneously at the YEI centers abroad and in Turkey. Over 15,000 test takers have participated in TPE, which has been held at 45 countries and 59 exam centers.

TPE is held in three sessions: the first involves questions for listening and writing skills, the second covers the writing skills, and the third has questions for speaking skills. The successful individuals are awarded "Turkish Proficiency Certificates" in B2, C1 and C2 levels according to their scores.

TPE, developed according to the CEFR, is important since it enhances the interest of foreign students towards Turkey while facilitating the acceptance of foreign students to the universities and enabling their assessment via a more stable platform.

THOSE WHO SUCCEED WILL BE EXEMPTED FROM THE PREPARATORY YEAR IN THE UNIVERSITY
