Yunus Emre Institute to Open A Center in Misrata, Libya
Yunus Emre Institute will open a branch in Misrata. Libya Yunus Emre Institute (YEI) and Misurata University signed a protocol for the Institute to open a branch in Misrata and for various activities.
Gürkan Gürmeriçliler, Consul General of Turkey in Misrata, stated that they faced intense demand for Turkish language learning.
Gürmeriçliler stated that work on the issue started in 2018 but could not be advanced due to the political uncertainty and security environment in the country.
COOPERATION WILL BE MADE IN THE ACADEMIC FIELD
Emphasizing that Yunus Emre Institute will carry out academic studies on Turkish Language and Literature, Consul General Gürmeriçliler continued as follows:
"Yunus Emre Institute and Misurata University signed a protocol in line with the aim of cooperation between the two institutions and mutual support of these studies, such as providing academic staff and educational materials, determining educational programs, student exchanges, conducting joint cultural and academic activities."
A statement was also made on the official social media account of Misurata University on the subject.
The statement said, "A protocol was signed between the two institutions in the capital Ankara for the development of cooperation on cultural and academic issues and the opening of a branch of Yunus Emre Institute in Misrata."
It was also stated that the two institutions held a meeting to discuss the details of the protocol.
Yunus Emre Institute, which started Turkish language teaching and cultural interaction activities on the axis of cultural diplomacy, opened its first center abroad in 2009.
